FINAL PRODUCTS

In creating a zine fest, there are many things that come into play when wanting to have a successful outcome. For this reason, we had multiple bells and whistles chiming throughout the months leading up to our final exhibition. We were put to work with different groups as well as having individual responsibilities.

The two groups that I was a part of were the design production group and one of two environmental groups.

Zine Group: Out of Orbit

My zine group was composed of four of my peers who each created persuasive essays on their chosen social topic. Nick’s main interest was in sustainable fashion, thus his topic became industrialization. Iza was addressing environmental racism, where she specifically looked at the impact it has on Barrio Logan in San Diego. Thalia was addressing the issue of animal rights and animal cruelty. My last group member, Adrian, focused mostly on endangered species.

As a zine group, we cohesively designed a zine that would make all of our essays work effortlessly. Our group was ultimately trying to address the topic of environmental issues by identifying certain parts of the world that take advantage of the world. We chose to stick to the theme of a world falling Out of Orbit,  in order to metaphorically tell how our impact on the world is making the earth fall out of trajectory and burn in a fire.
