THE POWER WITHIN

I have had the great fortune of working on some truly inspiring projects while being a member of Contemporary Beat.  The Power Within  was a personal narrative project where we were able to answer the question: "Where does your power come from?"  Each student chose a pivotal moment in their life that they believe their power came from. We touched on very personal and emotional truths throughout this story and found the biological connection of where our power was located and incorporated that into our story. Once our stories were ready to be performed, we held five, student-produced nights that showcased our stories. Here, we invited family members, friends, as well as members of the public community to come out and be moved by our stories.
